That is SO limiting! So, please don’t call talking boards, Ouija boards. Just like petroleum jelly is known universally by its trademarked name, Vaseline, the same is true of the talking board, it’s known universally as a Ouija board.
So you don’t call a talking board Ouija, learn the other names a talking board is known by. Versions of the talking board have been around since 500 BC. A talking board is believed to be a way to channel spirits by some and a harmless board game by others. Parker Brothers has owned the trademark for the Ouija board since 1966.
